Unit 4: Tectonic and Gradational Processes (Lithosphere)

Lesson 3: The Surface of the Lithosphere

Effects of denudation

So far we have looked at the “internal” processes of the lithosphere. In this lesson we will look at what’s happening on the Earth’s surface. We will look at four main processes:

  1. Weathering
  2. Transportation
  3. Erosion
  4. Deposition

These process together are called DENUDATION, and are mainly caused by three things:

  1. Water
  2. Wind
  3. Glaciers/Glaciation

We will now look at them each of these in turn.

1. Weathering 2. Mass Wasting 3. Erosion 4. Deposition 5. Weather and Erosion (Review & Extra Info)
