  • understand the stages of economic development, the concepts of core and periphery, and economic patterns of change
  • answer the question:  Should equalization payments be used to solve Canada's regional disparities?

Here are some questions to stimulate your thinking as you write your responses. Remember that your primary task is to answer the ‘Topic of the Week’ question:

  • Has Christianity become the happy mistress of capitalism and unrestrained development?

  • Is the productivity of a region the most important factor in determining whether it should / should not receive aid during downturns in the economy?

  • What is the root cause of economic disparities?
